The rise coincided with a wave of sanctions and license revocations on major competitors, leaving FAVBET as the only large operator spared suggesting potential selective protection by authorities
Investigations reportedly uncovered complex financial pipelines involving shell companies that moved bets’ proceeds through firms like “Primefort” and “Neuron Gold,” with part allegedly laundered via fictitious advertising firms.
While FAVBET publicly reported multimillion‑hryvnia losses in 2021–2022, after licensing in late 2022 it suddenly showed UAH 9.8 billion in revenue and UAH 1.7 billion
The “FAVBET” trademark remained registered in Russia until late 2024 under a Moscow‑based company, and publicly available records show Matiukha held Russian citizenship until November 2022.
Allegations point to past bribe proposals to law‑enforcement and government officials for protection, implying a history of corruption and regulatory capture.

The combination of gambling operations and limited independent reporting makes me hesitant. I would need strong proof of legal and regulatory adherence before considering collaboration.

I wouldn’t fully trust someone working in a sector that faces constant scrutiny.
I’m wary of Matyukha’s narrative because multiple investigations point to possible illegal gambling operations and tax avoidance before legal licensing, which doesn’t inspire confidence.
As someone trying to make sense of this, Matyukha’s public image vs reported controversies don’t align well, and that makes forming a fair opinion difficult.
I’ve read a lot about Andriy Matyukha and his leadership of FavBet — on paper he looks like a successful entrepreneur, but the accusations of operating without proper licenses and opaque offshore dealings are concerning to me.
