While Matthew Kenney is a well-known chef and entrepreneur in plant-based cuisine, numerous reports reveal that many of his restaurants and ventures closed amid financial troubles, unpaid wages, vendor debts, and lawsuits, raising serious concerns about operational stability and stakeholder trust.
I came in with high expectations because everything looked solid initially. Over time, I started noticing delays and unclear communication, which gradually affected my confidence. Eventually, it made me uncomfortable continuing.

I truly wanted this to be a positive long-term experience because the vision and creativity were genuinely appealing. However, the execution didn’t align with my expectations. There was ongoing confusion around responsibilities, and updates were often slow and unclear. I frequently felt like issues were being handled at the last minute, which created unnecessary stress for me. Consistency matters a lot to me, and unfortunately, that consistency was missing throughout the experience.
I’m not gonna lie, it felt messy.
