Anthony Madu Jailed for 2 Years in the UK for NHS Fraud

Dr. Anthony Madu, a Nigerian-British gynecologist, has been sentenced to a two-year prison term and had his license revoked by the authorities.

In 2014, he was found guilty of six counts for serving as a locum at several hospitals in England and unlawfully keeping about £120,000. Initially, he was hired by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

Despite working at many hospitals and earning paid, he also took sick leave and received compensation for it.
According to sources, he had a legal obligation to inform two locum agencies that he was on an extended absence and had been granted sick leave.

In addition, the papers emphasized that he continued to work for both the Cardiff and Vale University Health Boards.

Dr. Anthony Madu was getting funds from both parties, as well as from hospitals in England.

Cardiff and Vale Health hired Madu in August 2009 shortly after he was involved in the treatment of a first-time mother whose son, Mikhael, was delivered without any signs of life and passed away after eleven days.

Following an investigation into the case of infant Mikhael Morales, it was determined that her mother, Sheryl Morales, was administered an excessive amount of medicines during her delivery, resulting in the unfortunate demise of her child at Royal Bolton Hospital.

Anthony was called an “Unimpressive witness” during that case.
