About Scott Yandell

A local lawyer, Scott Yandell, is being sued for allegedly making money off of criminal activity after he told his clients they could legally grow marijuana even though federal law said otherwise. As to the lawsuit filed by Scott and Marsha Yandell, Ian Christensen’s legal firm suggested to couples such as the Yandells that if they needed medical marijuana to treat a medical ailment, Scott could get a doctor’s note which would protect them from prosecution. After Christensen told them that it was legal to use marijuana in 2015, Scott Yandell and his wife were charged with growing, possessing with intent to sell, and trafficking marijuana in St. Johns County. In the end, they reached a settlement and consented to a $15,000 fine, three years of probation, and 100 hours of community service.
